Capitol Hill
Completed: Winter 2021
Size: 1500 sqft
Location: Seattle, WA
The interior design of this Spanish mission-style home provided a nostalgic palette for this California native. Nestled in the North Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, we leaned into its stucco and terra cotta elements, airy archway thresholds, and ample alcoves to create an art-oriented concept mixing vintage and contemporary furnishings. In a city dominated by the craftsman vernacular, the details of this home were a much welcomed departure.
The project was a balancing act of light and dark, complemented by elegantly spare lighting and lithe-legged furniture. The furniture is a mix of heirlooms from the client, with new pieces that nod to Southern California mid-century and Mexican artisans.
